About

The musicians of the Quintessenza Brass are all professors who have collaborated with some of the most important Italian and foreign musical institutions.  They have performed in various cities around the world under the direction of famous conductors such as, Muti, Baremboin, Mehta, Maazel, Pappano, Sinopoli, Gatti, Chung, Temirkanov, Nagano and Morricone.

They have performed at many important venues in Italy and abroad, for example, Castel Sant'Angelo, Teatro Valle, San. Marco al Campidoglio, the Center for American Studies in Rome, and la Chiesa del Gesù Nuovo in Naples.  They were special guests at the Santa Fiora in Musica Festival and the Tolfa Jazz Festival.  They also played for the Weimar Rotary Club in Germany and the Music Union of Novazzano in Switzerland.

The Quintet has a varied repertoire that ranges from baroque to classic to contemporary music and Jazz, as well as original music composed specifically for brass instruments.  Several pieces have been composed and arranged for them by leading musicians such as the composer and trombonist Marcello Rosa.

The musicians specialised in chamber music at the Hochschule fur Musik "Franz Liszt" in Weimar under prof. Walter Hilgers (German Brass).

The Quintessenza Brass was awarded the “Forder preis” at the XIII International Competition for Brass Ensembles in Passau,  Germany.  They also received an award in the Chamber Music section, at the IV International Competition of Philadelphia (VV) and at the XIX National Competition of Chamber Music "Giulio Rospigliosi'.

Their first album "ARIA" was released in December 2014 and has been recently reviewed on Vatican Radio. The album features a special appearance by soloist trumpeter Fabrizio Bosso.
